PAMA Foundation Scholarship Program

The PAMA Foundation (PAMF) Scholarship Program was created to recognize and reward qualified students who have selected aviation maintenance as a career. Recipients for the $1,000 scholarship are selected on the basis of criteria set forth below and on information provided in the attached application. Scholarships are awarded regardless of race, color, gender, religion or national origin.

The program operates solely on donations from regular, associate, student, education and company members and funds raised through the Annual Funds Drive. Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books or supplies directly related to the program. Scholarships are not renewable; however, students may reapply for scholarship each year.

Candidates meeting eligibility requirements are invited to submit the appropriate application and documentation by November 30, 2009 (postmarked by).

Individual recipients are selected during the month of December. Successful candidates will be notified in late December. Checks are payable to both the student and school for endorsement.

Brian Bennett Scholarship

Brian was the son of Richard Bennett, one of the original founders of the PAMA Scholarship program who served as scholarship director from 1980 – 1998, and a student in the aviation maintenance technology program at Southwestern Michigan College.

According to Richard, Brian was a responsible person always doing what was expected of him without being asked more than once. He epitomized the desirable qualities of a future aircraft maintenance technician; Brian was bright and committed to learning everything he could about aviation maintenance and the industry, displaying enthusiasm for his studies and serving as inspiration to his classmates.

Brian was taken by a tragic accident in 1982 before graduation from college. Richard lost a treasured son; the aviation industry lost an individual who was destined to make significant impact.

The Brian Bennett Scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to one individual selected from the PAMA Foundation Student Scholarship applicants by the scholarship committee. It will recognize the student who displays a high level of enthusiasm and commitment towards their studies and the aviation maintenance industry. Funding will come from the PAMA Foundation, and Richard & Susan Bennett.
